The Rune platebody (g) is a gold-trimmed version of a rune platebody. It has the same defence stats as a normal rune platebody and thus is purely ornamental in purpose. It requires 40 Defence and the completion of the Dragon Slayer quest to wear. It is a possible reward from level 3 treasure trails. This piece of armour cannot be made with the Smithing skill. Many free to play players wear this armour as a show of wealth. A scam involved with this piece of armour is armour trimming, whereby the scammer offers to "trim" an ordinary rune platebody into a trimmed version. Players must be careful, as only dragon armour can be trimmed. The armour itself is able to be bought and used in Free-to-play, yet can only be attained in Pay-to-Play.
