An uncharged rune spikeshield

The rune spikeshield is a reward that can be purchased with 200 tokens from the Fist of Guthix minigame. It degrades with use like Barrows equipment. It can only be traded when completely uncharged. It requires 45 Defence to wield. The Rune spikeshield also requires recharging once it has completely degraded, which will cost 20 Fist of Guthix Tokens in Reggie's shop. A charged rune spikeshield has +1 better defenses in all sections than a rune square shield, and has a +3 strength bonus.

The rune spikeshield is rarely used; its berserker counterpart is superior and only slightly more expensive in terms of tokens. However, the spikeshield is a good candidate for mages desiring melee protection, as both kiteshields and berserker shields offer a larger negative bonus to magic attack than the spikeshield.
