Rune gold-trimmed armour sets are obtained through the Grand Exchange. It is a result of exchanging full Rune (g) armour through the exchange and receiving a Rune gold-trimmed armour set (lg) or (sk), where (lg) means platelegs and (sk) meaning skirt. Players may wear this with matching members items such as gold colored boots, gold gloves from Canfis and a gold Fremennik cape, this is solely to improve the appearance to the armour and shows wealth to other players. Except for the gloves, these extra items cannot be purchased from a F2P world and can only be obtained from members worlds.

The Rune gold trimmed armour set is currently the fourth most expensive variation of the ordinary rune armour. It is only surpassed by the Rune Saradomin, Zamorak, and Guthix armour sets. Its price dropped very heavily after the graphical update on the 6th March 2012.

The set can be exchanged for Rune (g) full with either a skirt or legs. The armour is obtained through Treasure Trails.
