The dragon halberd is the strongest halberd available, as well as the most accurate dragon weapon in the game. It requires completion of Regicide to wield, as well as 60 Attack and 30 Strength. Like all halberds, the dragon halberd has the ability to attack from two squares away, and thus the only dragon melee weapon usable for safespotting. It can be purchased from the Quartermaster at Tyras Camp for 325,000 coins, but can be bought from the Grand Exchange or another player for a substantially lower price.
Sweep, the dragon halberd's special attack, deals extra damage and it will hit twice against large monsters (those that take up more than one square of space). In a multicombat zone, Sweep can hit up to three normal-sized targets at once if they are properly lined up next to each other. Each use drains 30% of the special attack bar. Note that it is possible to hit 700-700, if all of the following conditions are met: The player is on a slayer assignment to kill Ice strykewyrms, while also wearing a Tokhaar-Kal, a full slayer helmet (or Black mask), while also having 99 Strength, and using Turmoil, an extreme strength (or Overload), and having a +139 strength bonus.
The weapon's extra square of reach, high offensive bonuses, and powerful special attack make it useful for fighting certain large monsters from safe spots, this makes Dragon Halberd the best weapon to replace dragon dagger when fighting larger monsters. The downsides include the quest requirement to wield it, the fact that it is a two-handed weapon (and thus cannot be wielded with a shield or Defender) and its slow attack speed.
Due to the weapon's unique nature, it is best used in situations where there are safespots, and against big monsters. A popular place to bring the dragon halberd is the Fight Caves, where you will fight huge monsters that can be safespotted. 80+ attack and strength level is recommended if you use this tactic. Players can often be seen using the dragon halberd in Pest Control, as its special attack can inflict large amounts of damage against the portals.

Trivia
- It was possible for Sweep to strike a small target twice in a multicombat zone; this requires the setup shown to the right. This bug has been fixed.
- Of dragon weapons, only the dragon two-handed sword has a higher strength bonus than the dragon halberd, at +93. However, the dragon halberd is the most accurate dragon weapon, both in terms of stab and slash (though a dragon longsword combined with a dragon defender gives a greater stab bonus than the halberd alone). Whether it delivers the greatest amount of damage per second compared to other dragon weapons is an open question and is best left to individual players to determine for themselves.
- There is currently a glitch that causes the "red arc" effect of the special attack to appear after the halberd has finished its sweeping motion.
- If a player is further than 2 squares away from a monster and the player has run on the player may run within melee distance (directly adjacent to the monster). Turning run off before attacking should to fix this.
