Bloodveld

Bloodveld are Slayer monsters requiring level 50 Slayer to kill. They have similar drops to Lesser demons, including rune helms and steel scimitars. Aside from Slayer tasks, bloodveld are sometimes killed for their favourable green charm drop rate or their unusually high drops of blood runes. Other than that, they are rarely killed offhand.

Their appearance changed upon release of the Smoking Kills quest on 5 June 2008.

Locations

God Wars Dungeon

Usually not a recommended place to kill Bloodvelds. There are far too few to support a player, and are fairly spread out throughout the rooms. You also need God-related items to protect yourself from them and other monsters. Other than that, it may be a fair choice to kill the ones near the entrance. There are always Spiritual warriors and Spiritual mages killing Zamorakians there. The nearest bank is in Burthorpe.

Note: These Bloodveld can be cannoned, however this is usually not worth the time and money.

Slayer Tower

The Slayer Tower is a popular choice for those who have not completed Legacy of Seergaze. There are several Bloodveld spawns and some safespots located on the first floor of the tower. If you want to get there quickly by using the agility chain, remember to bring nose protection as you must get through an Aberrant spectre, which causes damage without a nosepeg or slayer helm. It's usually crowded, so players usually find another world to kill them. The nearest bank is Canifis. Bloodveld here CANNOT be cannoned.

Meiyerditch Dungeon

The other place to kill Bloodveld. Mutated bloodveld, a stronger variant, can also be found here. Because of this, the regular Bloodveld are usually ignored. Always watch out for Skeletal hands or Zombie hands that pop from the ceiling or the ground.

Rare drop table drops

This monster drops items from the rare drop table.
The ring of wealth improves the chances if equipped but is not required to access the table.

Trivia

  • Bloodveld are loyal to Zamorak, as shown in the God Wars Dungeon.
  • Bloodveld are one of the only two types of demon to drop bones rather than ashes, the other being hellhounds.
  • The examine text of bloodveld is very similar to the examine text of the dust devil, basilisk, and rockslug. The bloodveld is "the tongue of evil", the dust devil is "the vacuumed face of evil", the basilisk is "the eyes of evil" and the rockslug "the slime of evil."
  • A bonecrusher doesn't automatically bury any big bones dropped because they are not a 100% drop, but rather a bonus drop.
  • The bloodveld seems to attack twice in a row but it only attacks once, as seen on the hitsplats.
  • Vampyres keep bloodveld as pets, in a similar fashion to the way in which humans keep dogs. Harold, who belongs to Vanstrom Klause is one example, as are Grigan Kaninus' bloodveld younglings.
  • In the twelfth Postbag from the Hedge, their tongues are likened to that of KISS bassist Gene Simmons, a rock star who himself has an unusually long tongue.
