The Steel hatchet is a hatchet stronger than the iron hatchet. It can be used in combat or in woodcutting to cut trees. Like all Steel weapons, it requires Level 5 Attack to wield. At level 6 Woodcutting, you may use it to cut trees. This is not a popular choice, as the Rune Hatchet is inexpensive and much better. However, it can be bought at Bob's Brilliant Axes for 200 coins, making it a popular choice for low level players. Players can make a steel hatchet with the smithing skill at level 31 using 1 steel bar, giving the player 37.5 smithing experience. Players can also receive it as a drop from certain monsters.
