For the Lucky version, see Lucky dragon 2h sword.

The Dragon two-handed sword is the fifth strongest two-handed sword available, succeeded by the various types of godsword, and the seventh strongest non-degradable weapon, surpassed by the barrelchest anchor, godswords and Balmung. It can only be wielded by members who have at least 60 Attack. It is dropped by the Chaos Elemental and the Kalphite Queen, and can also be looted from a kingly impling jar.

The dragon two-handed sword has a special attack, Powerstab, which can hit up to 14 enemies adjacent to the player, but only in a multicombat area. This makes the special attack effective in combat situations with multiple opponents. However, it uses 60% of a player's special attack energy, so it cannot be done in rapid succession. Players typically prefer to buy an Abyssal whip or Saradomin sword rather than the Dragon two-handed sword. Against players, the weapon's maximum hit is 580 (if using PvP armour and all the best secondary equipment, potions, prayers, etc.), or 490 with Void equipment and the other aforementioned items (not yet confirmed).

With the release of Item Lending, the dragon two-handed sword, like the godsword, is in somewhat popular demand for inexperienced players wishing to see their maximum hit and/or deciding if it is something they wish to buy. This weapon is mostly seen borrowed/lent near the Pest Control landers.

The dragon two-handed sword is one of the few dragon weapons that does not require the completion of a quest. Because of this and its large strength/slash bonus, it is popular for training in dense areas. However, its slash bonus is surpassed by wielding a dragon longsword with a defender. Its strength bonus still remains higher. But by wielding both a dragon battleaxe and a dragon defender, one not only receives more defence bonuses, but a higher slash bonus and a nearly identical strength bonus, not to mention faster attack speed. The dragon battleaxe is also much cheaper, but requires the completion of Heroes' Quest to wield, so the 2h remains a viable option for those who cannot enter the warrior's guild or complete the Heroes' Quest.

In early May 2009, the price of the dragon two-handed sword crashed. It fell from around one million coins to around 600,000 coins. After a slight price recovery around 19 May 2009, the sword continued to fall in price and, in the crash, people were frantically selling them in junk trades. The price has since made a significant recovery. This is most likely due to the old-style PvP-Wilderness update, making one of the two sources of the dragon two-handed sword, the chaos elemental, much harder to reach due to player-killers.

Although the special attack in most situations is rendered useless, it may be useful when fighting dagannoths and bandits for combat training because it's a crowded multi-combat area.
