A Dragon plate armour set (lg) is an armour set. It can be obtained by exchanging the components of the set through a clerk at the Grand Exchange. It is worth noting that this armour set is more expensive than Dragon plate armour set (sk) simply because Dragon platelegs are in more demand than the cheaper Dragon plateskirt (although this used to be true, currently Dragon plate armour set (sk) is more expensive). Only the Dragon platebody can be smithed at 92 Smithing, assuming the player has a Ruined dragon armour shard, Ruined dragon armour lump, Ruined dragon armour slice and a Blast fusion hammer, and take these to the Dragon forge, which makes the Dragon platebody a very expensive piece of armour in the set (the most expensive is the Dragon full helmet). The other parts of this set can be obtained as drops. Not many players have this as it is relatively expensive for the bonuses. It is worth saying you should check the prices in the Grand Exchange to price the set, compared to the individual pieces. Doing this can save millions of coins.

Dragon armour is currently one of the best sets of defensive armour that doesn't degrade. Bandos armour has a strength bonus but slightly less defence. The third age armour is slightly better, but has prices which exceed other sets easily. Torva and Barrows armour have higher stats, but degrade and cost coins to repair.

On 31 January 2012 the Mercenary warrior, found north of Falador, had his dragon armour updated.
