Rune darts are member's only Ranged throwing weapons. To wield them players must have at least 40 Ranged. They can be obtained by either using the Smithing and Fletching skills or trading with another player. They can also be dropped by Iron Dragons, Steel Dragons, and Red Dragons. Rune darts can be poisoned and can be wielded with a shield or god book for protection. Rune darts are also a fairly common loot from ninja implings.

When Dragon slaying, Iron and Steel dragons in Brimhaven Dungeon both drop Rune darts (p). Though these don't make much money, so aren't worth bringing out of the dungeon, they can be quickly thrown at the dragons which gives a chance at poisoning, and clears a space for carrying bones or more valuable loot. However, it is worth it to just keep them and use a cleaning cloth on them to remove the poison so that they can be sold on the Grand Exchange.

To create rune darts the player must have completed the Tourist Trap quest and have at least 89 Smithing and 81 Fletching. Each Rune bar will create 10 Rune dart tips and the player will receive 75 Smithing experience. When feathers are added the player will receive 10 rune darts and 18.8 Fletching experience per rune dart.
