Rune Boots
Rune Boots

Rune boots are a members-only item in RuneScape that are worn in the footwear slot of the player's Inventory. The player needs at least 40 Defence to wear these armoured boots. To obtain Rune boots, the player can either obtain them as a drop from Nechryaels (which need 80 Slayer to kill) or from trading with another player.

As with all metal boots, this item cannot be made using the Smithing skill.

Price History

There was a significant price drop of Rune boots following the release of Dragon boots, which were available for only a few hundred thousand coins more. The price of Rune boots dropped by approximately 50% in a couple of days. By February 2008, the price had dropped from the standard price before the release of Dragon boots of 200,000 coins to just over 20,000, a drop of 90% in less than a year. The price has since seen an increase. As of the 1st of March, 2010, Rune Boots have seen a price increase, possibly due to price manipulation clans. Since the Rock climbing boots update that increased their store and Grand Exchange price to 75000 coins, rune boots increased in price again to make up for their defensive bonuses which climbing boots lack. With the advent of free trade and old pvp, the price of rune boots fell to 8,000 coins because very few rune boots are leaving the game.

Trivia

  • Rune boots did not always have a strength bonus, this was later added to match the climbing boots' bonus.
  • The value of a pair of Rune Boots in Investment Credits in Mobilising Armies is 7,239 Investment Credits.
  • The metal part of the Rune boots appear more rounded than in the item picture, which shows it as more straight and flat.
