The Spirit cape is a Dungeoneering reward that can be purchased for 45,000 Dungeoneering tokens. It requires 50 Defence, 50 Summoning and 50 Dungeoneering to equip. While worn, the special move cost for combat summoning familiars is reduced by 20%.

The Spirit Cape does not work with stat boost from a special move scroll, such as the Wolpertinger. The Spirit cape works with the Unicorn Stallion familiar, even though it is not a combat familiar, but not with the Ghast familiar, despite similarities between its special and the Unicorn's. Take note, the cape only lowers the special attack cost of combat related attacks, (with the exception to the Unicorn). This means that, even with combat familiars such as the elemental titans, the Spirit cape will not reduce the cool down of Titan's constitution, since it is not a combat scroll.

When using the spirit cape you get an ingame message "Your spirit cape reduces the cost of your familiar's scroll." However, since the December 20, 2011 update, the game chat filter now applies to this as well.

An example of a reduction is a rune bull rush scroll requiring 4 points instead of 6. This makes the spirit cape particularly useful for any summoning tanks who are able to reach the 45,000 dungeoneering tokens required to purchase it.

The Spirit cape can be used on a Completionist cape to toggle Spirit Cape abilities on the Completionist cape.

Note: The spirit cape can be picked up by the owner after dying in the Wilderness.
