Cape is a term applied to any kind of equipable item worn in the "cape slot" of a player's avatar that resembles a cape or cloak (as opposed to a backpack). Below is a list of the many different types of cape that players can wear in RuneScape.

Fire cape Awarded to players who managed to defeat TzTok-Jad in the TzHaar Fight Cave activity. Along with the Dungeoneering master cape and the Completionist cape, it is one of the few animated capes in the game. Yes
Monkey cape Rewarded from finding all 10 monkeys in Monkey Hide and Seek, available during the last Wild Weekend. Yes
Moonclan cape Part of the Moonclan robes set purchasable at the Lunar Isle clothing store. Yes
Lunar cape Part of the Lunar equipment acquired during the Lunar Diplomacy quest. Yes
Obsidian cape Dropped from the various TzHaar monsters and purchased from the weapons store there for 90000 Tokkul or can be bought from players for Expression error: Unrecognized punctuation character "[". coins. Yes
Spotted cape Can be obtained using the Hunter skill. You need at least level 40 Hunter to wear it. Yes
Spottier cape Can be obtained using the Hunter skill. You need at least level 66 Hunter to wear it. Yes
Spirit cape Members Dungeoneering reward. Requires 50 Summoning and 50 Defence to be worn. Yes
Team capes When someone wears the same wilderness cape as another player, they appear as a blue dot on each other's minimap, and their left-click attack option is moved to the right-click button instead. No
