The Rune halberd, similar to all halberds, is for members only. A halberd is a two-handed melee weapon. To wield it, the player must have at least level 40 Attack and level 20 Strength.

To obtain a rune halberd, players can either buy one at the Quartermaster's store in Tyras Camp or from another player (for example, through the Grand Exchange). Players cannot make a rune halberd. Players may also be able to obtain a rune halberd by getting it as a drop from a spiritual warrior.

It is fairly popular among lower-levelled players who are attracted by the distance attacking capabilities of the more powerful Dragon halberd, but lack the combat stats, Agility level, or simply the inclination to complete Regicide (which itself requires completion of the Underground Pass, Biohazard and Plague City quests.)

Even though it has the second best bonuses of any rune weapon (the first being the Rune two-handed sword), it is seldom used due to its speed.
