Jogres are relatively large monsters that mostly dwell on Karamja. The level 53 Jogres found on Karamja have a maximum hit of 73, and may therefore pose problems to lower level players exploring the jungle. They can also be a threat to the higher levelled players. However, they attack slowly, and will not be aggressive to players over level 107. The Level 58 Jogres are only found in the God Wars Dungeon. These stronger Jogres can hit a maximum of 80 life points, and are aggressive to anyone that is not wearing an item associated with Bandos. Contrary to popular belief (probably due to their green colour) Jogres are not poisonous, nor are they immune to poison, the rumor of which was probably started by their green color, which usually means having something to do with poison.

The name is a portmanteau of 'Jungle' and 'Ogre'.

History

In ancient times, they were brought to the jungles of Karamja by the god Bandos, who bred them to become what they are today. During the God Wars, they fought for Bandos, in many locations, among them the God Wars Dungeon.

Champions' Challenge

Jogres are one of the 'races' who have lesser champions in the Champions' Challenge activity. To fight the Jogre Champion, the player must kill jogres until one drops a Champion scroll, which is a very rare drop.

Trivia

• When getting an ancient effigy from a Jogre, your Adventurer's log will say "After killing a Jorge, it dropped an ancient effigy." This is misspelled and yet to be fixed.
