Locust rangers are encountered during the Dealing with Scabaras quest. They can be used to get Scabarite notes for the Scabarites Notes miniquest, and also for the Scabarites slayer assignment. Protect from Missiles may be needed as these reside in a multi-combat area. Their attacks are slow, but accurate, and have a max hit of 210.

Habitat

They can be found south east of the agility pyramid after crossing the long plants. The swamp area east of the Dealing with Scabaras dungeon. These are found just east from the Archaeologist camp, after going down the stairs and climbing over the Fallen Pillar. They are in a multi-combat area along with Locust lancers, Scabaras lancers, Scabaras rangers, and Scabaras locusts. Parts of this area are considered desert, and the player may require waterskins (or Enchanted water tiara) due to the desert heat effect. Three tiles south of the statue, and all north of this line, are desert areas. Staying south of this line will allow you to avoid the desert heat.

They also can be found in the Sophanem Dungeon. Here they have an unusually fast respawn time of less than ten seconds.
