Examine | A plain gold amulet. |
Weight | 0 kg |
A Gold amulet is made by using a gold bar on a furnace with an amulet mould in the inventory. It requires a crafting level of 8, and gives 30 experience, making an unstrung gold amulet. The amulet must then be strung before wearing by using either a ball of wool or the String Jewellery spell. Stringing provides 4 crafting experience, and costs Expression error: Unrecognized punctuation character "[". coins if you buy the balls of wool.
There is currently a glitch where the gold amulet, when worn, appears green rather than gold, similar to the amulet of power glitch. This also happens with a gold amulet(unstrung).
A plain gold amulet cannot be enchanted; only jewellery with gems can be enchanted. Gems cannot be added to a gold amulet, because they must be added during the crafting process.
Crafting Gold amulets is a great way to train crafting, because its fast and you don't lose money, though you don't make too much money either. Significantly more GP can be made by making Necklaces or Bracelets but at slower crafting exp.

Selling
Because there is little use for gold amulets, players find various ways to get money in exchange for this item.
- The jewellery shop,Grum's Gold Exchange, in Port Sarim will buy strung gold amulets at the High Alchemy price for the first amulet. However, as stock increases, the price offered for an amulet decreases. He will not buy unstrung amulets.
- Gold amulets can be sold to general stores
- Gold amulets can be turned into coins with the Low Level Alchemy or High Level Alchemy spells. In order to save on the cost of nature runes, players may choose to use the alchemy powers of the Explorer's ring 2, 3 or 4 instead.
- After completing Summer's End and using the enhanced Jennica's ring to free the rogue trader, players can sell strung gold amulets to the Rogue jewellery shop for their low-alch value. He will accept them in noted form.
