The dragon helm (previously dragon med helm) is the fourth strongest helm in RuneScape, the third being the Bandos helmet, second strongest being the Dharok's helm, and the strongest being the Torva full helm. This is the second strongest nondegrading helm. It requires 60 Defence to equip.
The dragon helm was the first piece of dragon armour to be released into the game. Upon its release in 27 February 2002, it was the most powerful melee helm in the game, surpassing the previous record holder, the rune full helm. As the rare drop table did not exist at the time, very few monsters were able to drop the dragon helm; this low supply combined with high demand pushed its price to over 3 million coins. However, its price gradually declined with the release of competing helmets such as the Barrows helms, the helm of neitiznot, and the dragon full helm, as well as the release of the rare drop table. Today, the dragon helm's price is very close to its High Level Alchemy value. While having lost much of its former popularity, it is still a commonly used piece of armour due to its relatively low price and decent bonuses.
Pikkupstix in Taverley will enchant dragon helms, enabling them to store up to 110 Summoning scrolls, for players with 50 Summoning.

Trivia
- The dragon helm was graphically updated on 6 March 2012 along with all other dragon armour.
- Cyrisus's dragon helm looks different from others, closely resembling the helm's appearance before the graphical update.
- Due to its low price, lack of degradation or any quest requirements, and decent defensive bonuses, the dragon helm is commonly used by combat bots.
- There exists a corrupt version of the dragon helm, which may be used by free-to-play players. However, the corrupt dragon helm more closely resembles a dragon full helm.
- When enchanted by Pikkupstix, the dragon helm's eyes glow. Aside from the gaze auras, this is the only method in the game to obtain glowing eyes.
