Glacor/Strategies
Glacors are level 475 elemental-like beings made of pure ice, they have a high defence against melee and ranged attacks. However, they are very vulnerable to Fire spells from the modern spellbook. If you intend to kill one quickly and efficiently, it is recommended to use the highest grade Fire Spell available to you.
Upon entering the caves, you will receive a combat boost from the residual effect of the Stone of Jas. This boost combined with maximum magic damage boosting equipment has allowed high level mages to hit upwards of 890 damage using Fire Surge.
Glacors are unaggressive so players can work at their own pace without being disturbed by these high levelled monsters. Players wishing to kill Glacors are advised to bring high level Magic equipment (Ahrim's or better) and some decent Ranged and Melee defence equipment to help cover defences from all 3 attack styles the Glacor will use. Players are advised to use the best Fire Spell available to them as other types of magic attacks prove to be ineffective even if they are higher tier than the Fire spell in question.
Fire Bolt with chaos gauntlets is another suitable option that can save you a lot of money. With chaos gauntlets and a Magic boost such as a magic potion, Fire Bolt is capable of hitting 500+ on glacors, although lower hits in the 200+ to 300+ range are much more common. Killing glacors with Fire Bolt is slower than killing them with Fire Surge; if you choose to kill the unstable glacyte last, you may be unable to kill the glacor before it uses its explosion property and regains some lifepoints. Fire Bolt is significantly cheaper than Fire Surge, but kills will take longer.
Strategy One
Attack a Glacor nearby and try whittle away at its health with Fire Wave or Fire Surge until it reaches half health. It will proceed to summon 3 Glacytes, each with their own effect. Hiding from the Glacor while fighting the Glacytes will save you a lot of food, prayer potions and lifepoints in the long run. Note that the Glacor will inherit the ability of whichever Glacyte was killed last. Killing the enduring glacyte will boost its defence. Killing the unstable glacyte will increase its damage and will cause it to occasionally self destruct itself to very low hp to deal massive damage if you are within melee range. Killing the sapping glacyte will give the Glacor the ability to occasionally drain your prayer by a few points every time it attacks you, even if no damage is dealt. Kill the glacytes in whichever way you think will be easiest for you. Generally the best option is to kill the sapping, then enduring, then unstable. Note that the enduring glacyte will have higher defense inversely proportionate to its distance from the Glacor, so you should lure it several squares away to kill it faster. After you have killed all 3 summoned glacytes, proceed to finish off the remaining health with your selected fire spell. Beware of the Glacor's freezing attack and its stalagmite attack as both will cut your current lifepoints in half. Evading these attacks is as simple as walking away from your current location.

Note*: These weapons should be used to kill Glacytes for minimum price
The Void Knight equipment coupled with a Void mage helm is a cheap but effective alternative to the expensive Ahrim's or Virtus set. Akrisae's robe top and bottom can be used over Ahrim's for greater prayer bonuses at the cost of magic attack. Akrisae's hood offer's a 4+ prayer bonus over 1 less magic attack bonus than Ahrim's and is preferred in all cases when using prayers against the glacors.
Inventory
- 3-4 (Extreme) Magic potions or a Vecna skull
- 6-10 Prayer potions or flasks
- Runes for casting best Fire spell
- Polypore Staff
- (Elite) Enhanced excalibur (optional)
- Holy wrench (optional)
- 100-200 Summoning scrolls (only if using a unicorn, yak, or titan)
- An extra familiar pouch
- Remaining inventory slots filled with high-level food
- BOB full of food if using one
- An extra Aura (optional if using one)
Fast Kills Method
This method should be use by players wanting to achieve high kills per hour. Having experience at killing Glacors is suggested.
- Level 95+ (for Fire Surge)
- Level 80+
- Level 80+
- Level 92+ (for Soul Split)
- Level 95 or 99 (for Iron titan or Steel titan)
- Level 96 (for Overloads)
Level 99 magic makes attacks more accurate, thus faster kills and fewer runes wasted.
Equipment
- Head: Hood of subjugation > Virtus mask > Ganodermic visor/Void mage helm*
- Neck: Arcane stream necklace
- Chest: Garb of subjugation > Virtus robe top > Ganodermic poncho/Elite Void Knight Torso
- Legs: Gown of subjugation > Virtus robe bottom > Ganodermic leggings/Elite Void Knight Legs
- Gloves: Gloves of subjugation > Spellcaster gloves > Gloves (barrows) > Infinity gloves > Void knight gloves
- Boots: Boots of subjugation > Ragefire boots > Infinity boots
- Ring: Seer's ring (i) > Onyx ring (i) > Dragonstone ring (i) > Seers' ring
- Weapon: Chaotic staff** > Staff of light > Master wand
- Shield: Celestial surgebox > Arcane Spirit Shield > Ward of subjugation >Farseer kiteshield > Mages' book

- Alternative Weapon: Armadyl battlestaff > Polypore staff
- Familiar: Steel titan > Iron titan > Unicorn stallion
- Aura: Penance > Master reverence aura
Note*: Void should be used as a full set and is useful because it has no repair costs. Celestial surgebox is more effective to use than using Void knight deflector along with a mage robe top.
Note**: Chaotic staff offers higher magic accuracy than Staff of light; however, Staff of light has the ability to save on runes and does not degrade.
Inventory
Inventory for roughly one hour of Glacors should be as follows:
- 3 Overloads
- 3 Prayer renewals
- 1-8+ Prayer potions*
- Enough runes for approximately 700 casts of a fire based spell (Fire Surge is suggested)
- 450 Armadyl runes if using Storm of Armadyl
- Armadyl battlestaff or Polypore staff
- 175 Steel of legends orIron within scrolls
- Optional: Enhanced excalibur
Note*: Using Penace aura, players do not need prayer potions, but taking one is suggested as a backup.
Setup
- Players should be on Ancient Curses and the Standard Spellbook.
- Spell Autocast should be on the highest fire based spell available
- Quick curses should be set to Soul Split (Protect Item and Leech Magic waste prayer points)
- Set the left click option if using Steel titan or Iron titan to Attack. If using Unicorn Stallion, players should set the left click option to Special move. Keep in mind that Steel titans cannot harm Glacors or Enduring glacytes.
- Auto-retaliate should be off
- When ready to attack the Glacor, summon your familiar then drink a dose of Overload and Prayer Renewal. Use Enhanced excalibur if you brought it to help counter the life points loss.
3-Stage Kill
First Stage:
- Once properly setup, attack the Glacor using Soul Split. Change to the proper deflect curse based on the Glacor's attack (Ranged looks like an Icicle; Mage looks like a blue orb; the three icicle attack should be dodged).
- Continue using Soul Split to keep life points maxed out while ensuring the proper deflect curse is used to avoid taking heavy damage.
- After 2500 damage (possible to hit past this using Celestial surgebox) the Glacor will summon its three glacytes, ending the first stage.
- Second Stage:
- This is the most difficult stage but can be ended in under 25 seconds using Steel titan and Storm of Armadyl. The Glacor is immune to damage until the glacytes are killed.
- Hiding behind cover wastes time. It is suggested to stay in the open and use proper prayer switches to have faster kills.
- Equip your Armadyl battlestaff to stop from attacking the Glacor. Switch to Storm of Armadyl spell and attack the Enduring glacyte. Be sure the Enduring glacyte a fair distance away from the Glacor as it has significantly higher defense the closer the Glacor is and will slow down kills and waste runes.
- Set your titan to attack the Sapping glacyte and use the appropriate special move scrolls to kill the Sapping glacyte as quickly as possible.
- At this point, the stage is fairly easy. Maintain prayer switches (and Soul Split if you feel it is necessary), keep the titan special moves going while you attack the Enduring glacyte. Dodge the Glacor's icicle attack whenever used.
- Eventually. the unstable glacyte will explode dealing 1/3 of your current life points (this should happen around when you finish off the other 2 glacytes) - it deals 900 damage to itself. This attack is timed by the increasing red/green bar overhead. With enough skill with prayer switches the attack is can be tanked and healed with Soul Split later on. Otherwise the attack can be easily dodged by moving to any tile that is not adjacent the the Unstable glacyte.
- The Enduring glacyte should die in under 8 casts of SoA; the Sapping glacyte typically dies in 2-3 Steel titan scrolls (although the titan may miss on several attacks and need more scrolls to kill). If the titan kills the Sapping glacyte before you finish the Enduring glacyte, set it to attack the Enduring glacyte or glacor so that the Unstable glacyte is not killed early.
- Once both the enduring and sapping glacytes are dead, attack the Unstable glacyte. It should die in one hit (fast kills would result in a 100 or 200 hit splat, slower kills would be 300+ damage needed). The second stage is done when all glacytes are killed, and the glacor can be harmed at this point.
- Third Stage
- This stage is essentially the same as the first stage. However, the glacor will inherit an ability similar to the last glacyte you killed (the unstable glacyte should always die last). The Enduring glacyte give the glacor 60% damage reduction, the Unstable glacyte gives the glacor a similar explosion with a larger radius (this also damages the Glacor) and it can regenerate its life points after the explosion, and the Sapping gives the ability to drain your prayer (at a much faster rate).
- Soul Split for life points and switch to proper deflect curses; the Glacor should die fairly quickly at this point.
Using Polypore staff keeps kills the same as using Storm of Armadyl, but kills will be much slower. Storm of Armadyl is strongly suggested even though it is more expensive.
Kills should be under 2 minutes, allowing for 50+ kills per hour based on the method used, with possibility of 60 kills per hour if 5 glacors are killed each Overload dose.
