The Third-age range top is a members-only piece of armour that is part of the Third-age ranger set. The requirements to wear this armour are 45 Defence and 65 Ranged. A Third-Age Range top can be either obtained by completing a Level 3 Treasure trail, buying it from another player or from the Grand Exchange. Due to its rarity, it is expensive and uncommonly seen in-game. The Black Dragonhide Body has 3 more summoning defence but 10 less magic defence than the third-age range top.
It was long thought that the chance of obtaining a piece of third-age armour was about 1 in 10,000 (according to Paul Gower); it was revealed that the odds are between 1/100,000 and 1/1,000,000.<ref>Mod Maylea.
