Third-age armour

Third-age armour is a members only group of armour that is only obtained through completing Level 3 and Level 4 Treasure trails, trading with other players or by buying in Grand Exchange. It is currently the best non-degradable armour in the game. According to Paul Gower, the odds of getting a piece of Third-Age armour from a Treasure Trail are extremely rare, very small or very low (according to Mod Maylea, the odds are at least 1 in 100,000 or worse from any trail). This armour cannot be made using the Smithing Skill. There are third-age armours for each combat class, and each class has a specific piece of armour specified for that class:

Third-age armour is very expensive, and thus, it is rarely worn, as some other types of armour give almost as good bonuses and are far, far cheaper.

Third-age armour generally rose in price after its release until early 2008. At that point it was bought out in the Grand Exchange for months. Some merchants used the armour as a method to sell partyhats. However, the price eventually peaked and crashed. Since then, the price of third-age armour has become more stable, although the ability of the price to be stable is impaired by the low trade volume and the infrequent price updates (they do not happen every day).

In the behind the scenes July 2010, Jagex stated that they would be releasing elite treasure trails (dropped only by certain boss monsters) introducing over 150 new rewards, some of which would be including third-age prayer armour.

This "third-age prayer armour" turned out to be the Third-age druidic equipment, which has, surprisingly, no stats over +20 and no uses (excluding staff, which has a +50 crush bonus). Though the total Prayer bonus is +31, there are better armour setups.
