Steel key Black is a key and reward from the minigame Shades of Mort'ton played in Mort'ton. To obtain it, the player must kill a Riyl shade and then burn its remains on a pyre. Phrin shades will never generate this key as a reward. The key may be used to enter the Shade catacombs and then open the correctly coloured chest. It will open a steel-framed chest with a black lock. This key can only be used to open doors up to steel within the tombs.
