The Muddy key is a key in RuneScape. It is obtained as a drop from Chaos dwarves, Chaos dwarf hand cannoneers, and Chaos dwogres. The key is used to open the Muddy chest in the Lava Maze. This key is very similar to the crystal key available to members. Using a war tortoise familiar, it is possible to use 200 keys in 60 minutes, discarding the mithril daggers and anchovy pizzas, making 442,600 an hour.

With a spirit terrorbird, it is possible to bring 12 muddy keys and keep everything but mithril daggers, giving a profit of 33,077 per trip.

The introduction of the Gem bag makes looting this chest even easier and more profitable.

Although gaining you a bit less profit per key, more money per trip can be made by bringing 27 keys, picking up the rubies and putting them in a gem bag, then picking up stackable items and mithril bars and leaving the rest (mithril daggers and anchovy pizzas) on the ground.
