The Magic longbow (sighted) is created by using a Longbow sight on a magic longbow. It requires 55 Ranged to use and is a faster and more accurate version of the regular magic longbow (103% more ranged attack bonus). The sight can be bought from the Rewards trader, for 10,000 dungeoneering tokens. It is currently the most accurate ranged weapon in Gielinor, but is beaten by the Bow (class 5) and Bow (class 4) in the Stealing Creation minigame and the Sagittarian longbow in Dungeoneering.

Sighting the bow won't make you lose the special attack - it's the same as Magic Longbow's special attack, called Power Shot. It uses 35% special attack energy, while giving a 100% chance to hit for one attack. The special will attack at its normal speed rather than the speed with its sight attached. This item is less popular in pvp due to it being harder to get than the magic shortbow and the less deadly special attack.

If you lose membership and still have the sight attached, you will not be able to dismantle the sight from the bow. You will have to get another one or renew membership to dismantle the bow and reuse the sight.

Trivia

  • Despite it being indicated on the website manual of RuneScape as requiring level 30 dungeoneering to use, the longbow sight is indicated in-game as requiring a dungeoneering level of 45. However, you need level 49 dungeoneering to gather enough tokens to buy Longbow sight.
  • When viewing the in-game ranged manual, the bow is called "Magic longbow (focused)" instead of "Magic longbow (sighted)."
  • A graphical glitch existed where the bowstring of the sighted longbow would not be drawn back when the bow is fired. This glitch was fixed on 6 October 2010. It was ingame since release of Dungeoneering.
  • Strangely, the bow has a higher attack than the Zaryte bow, Chaotic crossbow, Morrigan's javelin, Hand cannon, Morrigan's throwing axe, all god bows and the crystal bow yet costs only 10k tokens, has a ranged requirement of only 55, never degrades, and, on rapid, has the speed of a shortbow on accurate.
  • Despite having a massive ranged attack bonus, because it is limited to rune arrows, its maximum ranged strength bonus is 49 (although it is possible to use god arrows with it, therefore at 70+ range, the highest range strength bonus is +60). It's for this reason (as well as the fact that it protects under many items) that many players prefer the rune crossbow.
  • Since the Dwarf Multicannon's accuracy is based on the accuracy of your equipped items, it may be useful to use the Magic Longbow (sighted) with the cannon as its massive ranged accuracy bonus would greatly improve the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of your cannonballs.
