Morrigan's throwing axe is part of the Morrigan's Equipment, obtained from killing Revenants in the Forinthry Dungeon and as a very rare drop from the Chaos Elemental. It was released on 15 October 2008 during the PvP worlds update. It comes in two versions: "regular" and "corrupted". Because it is a one-handed weapon, it can be wielded together with a shield, god book, or other shield-slot spots for protection.
The "corrupted" throwing axe requires only 20 Ranged to use, but unlike normal throwing axes, it will instantly break upon impact with its target, and thus cannot be recovered from the ground once thrown. However, the "regular" throwing axe, requiring 78 Ranged to use, does not suffer from this weakness, and can be salvaged from the ground just like any other projectile.
Only the normal version has a special attack called Hamstring which deals 20% extra damage and drains the opponent's run energy four times faster for the next minute. This is useful in the Deep Wilderness, as it means run energy will always fall by 4-8% of their run energy. The special attack uses 50% of special energy bar, allowing it to use two specials before recharging.

Trivia
- Aviansies in the God Wars Dungeon used to wield this as a weapon, but after an update, they no longer do.
