Willow composite bows are a reward from level-1 Treasure Trails. They require 20 Ranged to use and can shoot up to Mithril arrows.

The willow composite bow cannot be made using the Fletching skill, and is currently the only composite bow available for free players. They can also be obtained through another player.

Note that the maple shortbow and longbow offer better ranged offensive bonuses; however, this bow was regarded a status symbol to Free-to-play players due to its rarity and price prior to 2010.

Trivia

• Years ago the Willow Composite Bow used to change colours. Depending on your hair colour, two bands on the bow will turn to the same colour of your hair. Jagex changed this after a while for an unknown reason. Whether it was a glitch or not is unknown.
• The walk animation when wielding the bow is the same used when wielding a staff.
• There used to be a glitch where the bow string seemed to pass through the player's arm. This was fixed on the 5th of September 2012, when the entire human base model was updated. However, the string now passes through some of the torso.
