The Maple shortbow is a shortbow stronger than the willow shortbow that can use arrows up to adamant. It is the second strongest shortbow available to non-members (surpassed only by the Gravite shortbow) and is the most popular ranging weapon in F2P worlds. The maple shortbow requires a Ranged level of 30 or higher to wield. Players can purchase this bow from Lowe's Archery Emporium in Varrock for 400 coins. It is the shortbow counterpart to the maple longbow. The only difference between the two is distance of attack and speed of attack, the accuracy and damage ability is the same.
Members can make a maple shortbow through the Fletching skill at level 50. First, a player must cut an unstrung maple shortbow from maple logs, granting 50 Fletching experience. Then, the player can string the Maple shortbow (u) with a bow string for another 50 experience.
