Akrisae the Doomed is the seventh and youngest Barrows brother. He is only accessible after completing the quest Ritual of the Mahjarrat. His tomb is connected to Verac's.

He is the wight of Akrisae Kolluym, who was turned by Sliske during Ritual of the Mahjarrat, jumping in the way of Sliske's spell to save the player.

He attacks using melee. Unlike the other Barrows brothers, he uses protection prayers. He switches prayer according to the player's attack style, for every 150 damage received, similar to Tormented demons. When doing so, he skips an attack. If you attack Akrisae for long enough he will eventually run out of prayer like a normal player would. Each hit he lands on a player that isn't using prayer has a potential to drain the player's prayer points to his prayer, and he even has the potential to deactivate any prayers in use.

Akrisae's accuracy and defence are both relatively low. He can be killed without prayer fairly easily. However, players may need to turn on protect/deflect melee if Akrisae gets a couple of max hits (340 damage each) during the fight.

Using melee and switching to a ranged weapon when Akrisae uses protect from melee is easily sufficient to defeat him. Another useful method is to use a black salamander and switching between its attack styles (melee, ranged, magic) as needed.

An alternative to defeat Akrisae is to use pure melee. Once he uses protect from melee, switch to Korasi's sword and use its special attack, which will force Akrisae to switch to protect from magic. This method can be enhanced by using a Recover Special potion. Attack Akrisae with melee and wait for him to switch to protect from melee. Then use the sword's special attack and he will switch to protect from magic. Now attack again with melee and use your Recover Special potion. After some hits, Akrisae will once again switch to protect from melee. Now again use the special attack and if necessary, continue attacking him with melee. Usually this cycle of three attacks with melee and two using the magic special sword is enough to kill him. In rare cases he will have some lifepoints left, in which case switch to a range weapon to finish him off. The Dragonfire Shield can also be used to trigger his protect from magic prayer(if it hits 150 or higher).

The staff of light is another useful method of killing Akrisae. Due to its dual-attack of melee and mage, it's very quick to melee him, and then cast a spell, alternating between magic and melee without ever needing to change weapon. Although magic is not as strong as ranged against Akrisae, it is still possible to regularly hit 200+ with Ice Barrage.

Trivia

  • Players who have completed Ritual of the Mahjarrat cannot see players who have not completed the quest whilst in Verac's crypt. This is because the crypt with Verac and Akrisae and Verac's normal crypt are in fact two separate dungeons.
    • Players who have not completed Ritual of the Mahjarrat can still see him in the catacombs, however.
  • Although the Akrisae's set is primarily used to mage, Akrisae attacks using melee only.
  • Akrisae's fighting animation looks the same as Torag's; however, Akrisae uses only one weapon instead of two.
