Verac's flail is a flail that is part of Verac the Defiled's set of barrows equipment. To wield Verac's flail, a player must have 70 Attack.
If Verac's flail is wielded along with all of the other pieces of equipment in Verac's set, the player receives a special effect. Attacks with this special effect have a chance of hitting through an opponent's defence and prayer, allowing for frequent, consecutively unignored hits against high defence monsters. With the set effect, this can be considered one of the best weapons for PvP Combat. This weapon cannot be made using the Smithing skill.
Verac's flail is also a fairly popular choice for killing waterfiends and the Kalphite Queen. Although its degrading effect can make it fairly expensive to maintain, it has a higher crush attack bonus than the Saradomin sword or the Zamorakian spear. It also has a higher prayer bonus than the two mentioned weapons, prolonging any prayer usage if players wishes to use them. It is often considered a cheaper version of the abyssal whip, as it has the same crush bonus as the whip has in slash, making it effective against plate armour, and boasts at an average 1/3rd of the whip's price. However, if a player has a dragon defender, the whip becomes the better option as its bonuses can be increased, unlike the flail, which is two-handed. The whip also has a faster attack speed and a higher strength bonus.
- Verac's flail is only tradeable when undamaged or fully broken.
- If you drop this item it will degrade to "0".

Template:CombatStyles Mace Please note: Although a flail is technically not a mace, the Verac's flail is classified as one, due to its primary and secondary attack styles being that of a mace, as well as the presence of its Prayer bonus [+6].
Repair
Barrows equipment degrades as it is used. Equipment received from the Barrows minigame is fully repaired and can be used for 15 hours of combat until it degrades completely and requires repair before it can be used again. Barrows armour degrades even if the player is using protection prayers or not taking damage. Unlike the crystal shield and crystal bow, Barrows equipment does not suffer in performance as it degrades from fully repaired to broken. Fully repaired Barrows items start out with no numbers in their names, e.g. Karil's crossbow. It would become Karil's crossbow 100 the first time it's used in combat. Eventually it would degrade to Karil's crossbow 75, then 50, then 25 and finally 0 at which point the weapon would break and be unusable until repaired. Additionally, Barrows equipment may only be traded if fully repaired or fully broken.
When dropped or lost on death (even when placed under a gravestone), any piece of Barrows equipment will automatically degrade to 0. Players who attempt to drop Barrows equipment will receive a warning message about this.
There are two ways to repair Barrows armour. Players can talk to any of the NPCs listed below and they will repair the items for a price. Alternatively, players can repair the pieces themselves using an armour stand in any player-owned house. The equipment can be repaired at any stage of degrade, and the cost will be adjusted according to how much it has degraded. The repair costs below are as if the equipment has fully degraded.
The following NPCs can repair the armour:
- Bob - the axe seller in Lumbridge
- Tindel Marchant - the weapon and armour repairman at Port Khazard
- Dunstan - the smith in Burthorpe
- Squire - in the workshop area of the Void Knights' Outpost
