Tindel Marchant is an NPC who resides at the end of the southern most pier in East Port Khazard. He also plays a role in the One Small Favour quest, where he gives you iron oxide in exchange for a mattress. He is also involved in the Ardougne Tasks.

Repairs

Tindel can repair degradable armours such as barrows equipment and ancient armour for the player at a price. The equipment does not need to be fully degraded in order to have it repaired. The cost of any repair is proportional to how degraded the item is. Alternatively, players can repair the armours at a cheaper price themselves at an armour stand in any player-owned house.

Rusty equipment

He will restore rusty swords and rusty scimitars for a price. They will randomly be repaired into swords or scimitars, ranging from bronze to rune.

Barrows equipment

The cost for barrows equipment depends on the equipment slot that the item is worn in. When fully degraded, Tindel's repair cost is as follows:

Equipment slot Cost to repair
Helm   60,000
Body   90,000
Legs   80,000
Weapon   100,000
Total   330,000

Ancient armour

The cost for ancient armour depends on the equipment slot that the item is worn in. When fully degraded, Tindel's repair cost is as follows:

Armour type Cost to repair
Torva full helm / Virtus mask / Pernix cowl   500,000
Torva platebody / Virtus robe top / Pernix body   2,000,000
Torva platelegs / Virtus robe legs / Pernix chaps   1,000,000
Total   3,500,000

Trivia

  • He used to refer to an iron sword as just a sword. As of 20 December, 2010, he now refers to it as an iron sword.
  • His name is often mistaken as "Tindel Merchant" not "Tindel Marchant".
  • In October of 2008 there was a bug that occurred which allowed players to turn in rusty swords at no cost and the rusty sword would remain in the player's inventory, allowing players to claim swords and scimitars of varying quality limitlessly. This bug was fixed in a later update.
