The Maple longbow is a longbow stronger than the willow longbow and can use arrows up to adamant. It is the second strongest longbow available to non-members, behind its own sighted version. The maple longbow requires a Ranged level of 30 or higher to wield (45 sighted). Players can purchase this bow from Lowe's Archery Emporium in Varrock. The maple longbow is slower than the maple shortbow, but shoots from a longer distance, which can be useful for snagging players who run and is useful for hit-and-run tactics because of its long range. At level 45 Dungeoneering and with 10,000 tokens, a longbow sight can be attached to make a maple longbow (sighted), boosting the bow's ranged attack bonus from +29 to +110 and improving its attack speed.

Members can make a maple longbow through the Fletching skill at level 55. First, a player must cut an unstrung maple longbow from maple logs, granting 58.3 Fletching experience. Then, the player must string the unstrung maple longbow with a bow string, granting 58.2 experience.

Trivia

• This bow was originally members only item. This was changed by Jagex when they believed that the free to play rangers were not as strong as the other two combat classes.
• If you use a Bow string on a Maple longbow where you can't make fires, you get the message "You cannot light a fire here." as if you were trying to light logs. Any other time, you get the "Nothing interesting happens." message.
• There is currently a glitch (17/07/12) Which, when wielding a rune pickaxe, then switching the a maple longbow, the player would be (graphically) shooting with a rune pickaxe.
• There is also a glitch which, while holding the maple longbow, and switching to the rune pickaxe, a player would hit with a bow. this is only graphical.
