The Golden key is used in the Priest in Peril quest.
It is obtained as a drop from a level 30 Monk of Zamorak. It is then used to obtain an Iron key and advance further in the quest. Despite what people think, this can be obtained without gaining combat xp, by using rings of recoil and food, or somebody using 'Vengeance other' and group heal.
