The Black kiteshield (g) can be obtained from Level 1 Treasure trails. This shield gives the exact same stat bonuses as a black kiteshield. Gold Trimmed items are no better than regular armour, trim is merely for decoration. Many players use this shield with elite black armour as it looks like the armour. Template:Blacknomake

It requires 10 defence to equip. Players buy it for its unique design.

Some players claim to be able to gold trim a Black Kiteshield, along with other items with trimmed counterparts, however they are simply attempting to make you offer them the item in trade, and then they will log off or run away. Either way there will be no way to get the item back. Players who attempt these scams usually use throwaway accounts that usually have no experience and no value to the owner, thus, even if you report the scammer no action will be taken against their main account, and Jagex Moderators will not be able to return the item to you. Remember that it is impossible for any player to trim any item, any players who should claim to be able to should be reported right away. Trimmed items can only be obtained through the Treasure Trails distraction and diversion or by cremating Vyrewatches.
