Maximum ranged hit is a term used to describe the highest amount of ranged damage that can be inflicted. Currently the maximum ranged hit is 3000, on an enhanced ice titan or ice demon during Ritual of the Mahjarrat.

Maximum hit conditions

The ruby bolts (e) have a special effect that removes 20% of the opponent's current life points (at the cost of 10% of the player's own health). Enhanced ice titans and ice demons both have 15,000 life points, and 20% of that is 3000. Note that the special effect of the bolts is not affected by equipment bonuses and Ranged level.

There are several monsters that have more life points than enhanced ice titans and ice demons. In theory, ruby bolts (e) should be able to hit even higher than 3000 on those monsters. However, all damage done to them is limited to a certain amount. The Corporeal Beast has 20,000 life points. One might expect ruby bolts (e) to be capable of hitting a 4000. However, the Corporeal beast's initial health is only 5000, while it regenerates the rest of its 15,000 life points in a manner similar to revenants. Thus ruby bolts (e) deal do a maximum of 1000 damage.

Previously the maximum hit was 2000 on an Avatar of Destruction or Avatar of Creation from Soul Wars (10,000 LP), but an update lowered it to 700. It is still possible to hit 2000 on the Decaying avatar during Nomad's Requiem. the maximum hit ever in Runescape is 2000000 on a party demon. It is theoretically possible to hit up to 6000 on Nex (30,000 LP), but all damage against Nex is capped at 500. Finally, Har-Aken has 50,000 LP, but it isn't possible to hit 10000 on him - damage done to it is also capped.

Calculating your maximum ranged hit

With the addition of Ranged strength values, calculating a maximum ranged hit is now fairly easy.

Step one: Calculate the effective strength level
