Third-age ranger armour
Third-age ranger armour is a set of Third-age armour for Rangers. To wear this armour the player needs at least 45 Defence and 65 Ranged. To obtain third age armour the player can either complete a Level 3 Treasure trail or trade with another player. However, due to its rarity, prices are extremely high and subject to major fluctuation.
As its examine option suggests, it is made from White dragonhide.
Compared to Black dragonhide armour, its ranged attack bonuses are the same with the exception of the coif, in which the stats are slightly higher. It also has higher defence bonuses for all stats apart from stab and slash. It is also worth noting that the body and chaps weighs significantly less than Black dragonhide. However it is several dozen times more expensive and many players who have the money to purchase it buy Armadyl armour which is slightly better and costs a lot less. However, Armadyl armour lowers melee attacking bonuses while Third-age does not. Therefore, if the player wanted to switch to a melee weapon they may without losing attack bonuses.
It was long thought that the chance of obtaining a piece of third-age armour was about 1 in 10,000 (according to Paul Gower); it was revealed that the odds are between 1/100,000 and 1/1,000,000.<ref>Mod Maylea. Trivia
- The examine info for Third-age ranger armour says it was made with white dragonhide, which suggests that sometime in the Third Age, white dragons existed.
