K'ril Tsutsaroth/Strategies
K'ril Tsutsaroth is a powerful boss capable of hitting up to 463 with his melee attacks, 300 with his magic attacks, and 499 with a prayer-draining special attack that he occasionally uses against players who use protect from melee or deflect melee. Players should stand away from the tank because, following the September 2012 God Wars Dungeon update, K'ril will hit all players standing on the tank. His bodyguards attack from all three sides of the combat triangle: Balfrug Kreeyath uses accurate magic attacks, Zakl'n Gritch uses accurate ranged attacks, and Tstanon Karlak uses inaccurate melee attacks.
Killcount
The 40 Zamorak followers killcount is quite easy to achieve, though it will take longer then Bandos. There are several tips to get a quick killcount.
- Main room: The place north and east of the rope are decent spots to gain killcount. Near the rope, Werewolfs, Goraks, Icefiends, Imps and Bloodvelds fight the Spiritual warriors and mages. They deal a good amount of damage onto each other, so you can get the blow at the last moment to gain the kill.
- North of the rope is where Bandos and Zamorakian followers fight each other. Hobgoblins, Ogres and Goblins fight the Hellhounds, Vampyres and Werewolves and the Hobgoblins are quite durable for their combat level, and this should be taken note of when killing Zamorak followers.
- In the Zamorak portion of the dungeon, players may kill the Imps and Spiritual mages (83 Slayer), as they have low defense and hitpoints. Spiritual mages may also supply Dragon boots, which may turn a profit if the trip does not go as planned.
Attacks
K'ril has few attacks, but is much more difficult then Graardor because of his own prayer-draining special, unlike Graardor who just has basic melee and magical ranged attacks. Each attack can multi-hit players if they are near the target K'ril is attacking.
- Melee attack: K'ril swipes his large scimtar at you, which deals for very high damage against players often, even with good defensive armor. This can hit up to 499 and will poison if it hits, starting from 168 lifepoints.
- Mage attack: K'ril jumps into the air, smashing his scimitar on the ground. This attack does not as often as the melee attack, but can still hit quite high on players.
- Prayer-draining special: K'ril only uses this if you are using Protect/Deflect Melee. This deals very high damge (usually over 400+), and drains your prayer by half. Usually the most dangerous attack, he does this occasionaly and players use melee prayers because of his accurate, deadly melee attacks. The damage can be split if multiple players are near the target he is attacking, but will still drain your prayer.
Recommended gear
Depending on how you plan to fight him and what you use, here are some suggestions when fighting him. If you are in a group of 2-4 people, use Saradomin brews and Super restores. If higher then 4 people, use Prayer potions, the best melee potions avaliable, and Rocktails. Remember to bring your antipoison!
Magic defence tank
When using this setup, you will be using Protect from Melee or Deflect Melee to block his powerful melee attacks. You should choose gear to maximize your magical defence. Be aware that K'ril will occasionally use his powerful special attack that smites you for one half of the damage done and may hit up to 499, draining 250 prayer points. You should keep prayer points high to prevent it from dropping. Watch for Zakl'n Gritch's attacks as you will have a noticeable drop in your ranged defense, meaning he will hit more often.
Melee defence tank
With this setup, you will pray protect/deflect magic and wear armor to maximize your melee defence. This is not recommended for players under 90 defence without extremes or overloads, because K'ril will be too accurate and deal too much damage. This method has the benefit of avoiding K'ril's dangerous special attack.
Melee attacker
This setup focuses solely on damage per second, and it is recommended for melee users who are not going to tank. You should use protect/deflect magic because Balfrug Kreeyath uses accurate magic attacks which will nearly always hit against your melee armor.

Void melee attacker
This setup focuses solely on damage per second, and it is recommended for melee users who are not going to tank. You should pray against range to stop the accurate ranged attacks coming from Zakl'n Gritch. The magic defence of your void armor will help protect you from Balfrug Kreeyath's attacks. You should probably only use this setup with high-levelled gear to make the most of your 10% attack and strength boost

Ranged setup
A ranged player can tank nearly as well as a melee player at K'ril Tsutsaroth due to the high magic defence of ranged armor. The player must use protect from melee to prevent K'ril's powerful melee attacks from ripping through the weak melee defence of ranged armor. The player will gain moderate range and magic defense, making Zakl'n Gritch and Balfrug Kreeyath from damaging you as often.

Tips
Tanks are of incredible importance in this boss fight. However, to lengthen each trip, it is helpful if members of the team take turns being the target of the demon's attacks.
- Having one of the team members bring a fruit bat with Fruitfall scrolls works very effectively here, as it heals players in between rounds. The main drawback of bringing this familiar, however, is that the summoner has to stay alive and not use a spirit terrorbird or war tortoise to hold food and supplies. This can be countered by summoning the war tortoise, waiting until the supplies from it are drained, dismiss it and summon the fruit bat.
- Two of the best familiars to use are the unicorn stallion and the pack yak; the unicorn's scrolls will heal you up to 150 life points each, and the yak can bank items for you (assuming you brought scrolls) as well as storing 30 items.
- Using the Darklight's special attack is very helpful, as that it only uses 50% of the energy bar and weakens the demon's defence more effectively than the Bandos godsword does. However, the Darklight's accuracy is very low compared to the Bandos godsword.
- If soloing, keep your health above 900 at all times. This is because K'ril can hit quite hard with his melee attack, and even if you're praying melee, he is able to bypass that with a heavy dealing prayer-draining special. Also, the ranged and mage bodyguards can hit quite hard if they hit, so high lifepoints is a must at all times.
- Try to bring the best equipment you can. If you have decent equipment, you can knock out K'ril before he can use his prayer-draining attack, making the tank save their supplies, meaning more kills.
- If you need to heal, walk under the boss and drink your brews/restores. This will prevent K'ril from using any attacks on you and decreases the chances of getting yourself killed.
- The Poison Purge auras are extremely useful in here, as they convert K'ril's deadly poison into a potent healing source. They last 10, 20, 30 and 40 minutes respectively, and saves a player from cluttering their inventory with Antipoisons. It is still best to bring one Antipoison++ if you plan to stay longer then 40 minutes.
- When being the tank, it is best to walk the boss instead of constantly fighting. This prevent's K'ril from attacking, which in turn prevents him from using his prayer drain more often. However, you must hit him once in a while or he will change his agressiveness towards the player(s) attacking him. This is not recommended if you are of a reasonably high combat level.
- When soloing, a Bandos godsword (or Darklight using an abyssal whip or another one handed weapon) is almost the best way to get the most kills per trip due to the defence reducing capabilities, if you are wearing Karil's armour, with a Helm of neitiznot, and a Zamorak cape and a fury amulet, most of the minions will not be able to damage you, as you will have some decent defence against all forms of combat, and you will only take damage from the boss' attack when he hits through your prayers, and occasionally from his magic attack, or if you forgot an antipoison. Watch for the ranged minion however, as the damage from him can stack up quickly.
- Because of the new dungeoneering equipment, most players who prefer to solo this boss use a combo of Darklight/Bandos godsword (the Statius warhammer is not recommended due to K'ril's relatively moderate defence and the high cost) with the chaotic rapier or chaotic longsword, because of its attack style. It is advised to bring recover specials and overloads to save valuable space, also, this means that you will have enough inventory space to either shark-brew or rock-brew. This can be incredibly handy if K'ril Tsutsuroth hits through your prayer because you can heal 500+ life points within seconds, and not face the drained stats (overload potion will reboost the drained stats every 15 seconds).
