The Bandos godsword is one of the four legendary godswords that was fought over during the God Wars. Requiring 75 Attack to wield, it is created by attaching a Bandos hilt to a completed godsword blade, which has no requirements and can be done by any player. Along with the Armadyl godsword, the Saradomin godsword, and the Zamorak godsword, the Bandos godsword carries the highest slash bonus and second-highest strength bonus of all melee weapons in the game, aside from certain weapons in Daemonheim, Stealing Creation, and the Dominion Tower.

Like all godswords, the Bandos godsword has a special attack, Warstrike, which deals 10% extra damage and drains the target's combat stats according to the damage dealt, using 100% of the special attack bar.

Uses

Warstrike drains the target's combat skills by 10% of damage dealt, in the following order: Defence, Strength, Attack, Prayer, Magic, Ranged. If Defence is drained to 1, the remaining drain effects moves onto Strength, and so on down the list. In practice, Warstrike rarely drains any skill aside from Defence, particularly on powerful boss monsters and high-level players; however, it can be very effective against combat pures who have very low Defence levels, as a high hit from Warstrike will almost certainly drain Strength. In player killing situations, the skill drain can be countered with a restore potion or super restore potion.

The Bandos godsword is somewhat popular when fighting high-level boss monsters, such as Nomad, God Wars Dungeon bosses, and even the Corporeal Beast despite the damage reduction for non-spear attacks. A large hit with Warstrike can substantially drain the target's Defence, making the fight much easier.

Because General Graardor is the most popular boss to kill in the God Wars Dungeon, the supply of Bandos hilts is very high, and the Bandos godsword is the most commonly seen godsword among players. Consequently, it is the least expensive godsword. Some players who wish to train with a godsword will buy a Bandos godsword, as it is the cheapest and yet has very high weapon bonuses.
