Tin ore is an ore used to create the metal alloy bronze. Tin ore, along with copper ore, is the first ore a player can mine through the Mining skill, and the rocks it is mined from are found at various mines. One of the best tin mining sites is the East Varrock Mine, as it is near a bank and the Grand Exchange.
Mining a tin rock grants 17.5 Mining experience for each ore mined. A player can smelt tin ore into a bronze bar through the Smithing skill by using it on a furnace along with a copper ore, granting 6.2 Smithing experience.
Power Training Mining (P2P)
For members, it is not really known that players can power level the Mining skill with Tin ore in the Port Khazard Mine. This is because of two fast respawning Tin Rocks that are very close to a Bank Deposit Box. These two Tin Rocks are the closest mining rocks to a fast bank source. This method is faster than dropping ore and the Living Rock Caverns.
For this reason, it rivals even Living Rock Cavern's Concentrated gold rocks, because in Living Rock Cavern's players are combated with ruthless high level monsters, scrambling around to see what rock is available, and lag if players are on a crowded Living Rock Cavern world. This takes away from precious time. With a Dragon Pickaxe, Varrock Armour 3, Penance Master Horn and Lava Titan (if money is no object), some very great Mining experience can be gained there, as Tin will mostly be mined in one swing for 17.5 xp each. This is the best mining place for pures or low levels.
