Lesser demon/Strategies
This guide explains how to train on Lesser demons using F2P items and at F2P locations.
Locations
- Crandor
- Crandor and Karamja Dungeon
- The Karamja area can be crowded in normal worlds, especially on F2P worlds. Players with a Dungeoneering level of 25 can go to the Karamja Volcano resource dungeon, which is relatively unpopulated. This way players can get 50k experience per hour or more.
- Wizards' Tower
- Melzar's Maze
- Wilderness Volcano
A rapid way to kill demons and bank their drops or pick up food is to use the explorer's ring 3. Cabbage-port, run to the pier, go to the Karamja dungeon, kill demons, cabbage-port when you have enough, and deposit the drops at the deposit box near the Entrana ship or pick up food at the Draynor bank. The ring will double up as an emergency teleport as its animation is unhindered by attacks.

- Full rune armour or better
- Rune weapon, preferably scimitar or Silverlight
- Rune kiteshield or Rune berserker shield 100 if not using a Rune 2h Sword
- Explorer's ring 3 or Ring of Devotion
- Amulet of Power (Amulet of Strength and Amulet of Defence work as well)
- Fighting boots/Fancy boots
- Leather gloves, Rune gauntlets, Safety gloves, or Green d'hide vambraces
Inventory:
- Lobsters or Swordfish.
- Strength Potions (optional)
- Accursed Urn /s (optional)
- A Lobster pot/Harpoon (if on Karamja)
- A hatchet (if on Karamja)
- A tinderbox (if on Karamja)
- You may use toolbelt
Method
Lesser Demons are aggressive, so you must have food on you while training. It is recommended you are combat level 80 or over, or they will attack at every opportunity they get. Eighty or below can still train range/magic (see below) because there is a safe spot for ranging/maging. Whenever out of food, the player should go to the fishing pier on the northern part of the island and fish either lobsters or swordfish.
If you decide going to Wilderness Volcano, head to the former Bounty Hunter volcano. Go a little north, pass the Greater demons, Ankous, and Hellhounds.

- Green d'hide body
- Green d'hide chaps
- Maple Shortbow or Maple longbow (sighted)
- Steel/Mithril/Adamant Arrows
- Green d'hide vambs
- Explorer's ring 3 or ring of devotion
- Amulet of power
- Leather Boots
Inventory:
- Rune Scimitar (back up weapon)
- 24 Lobsters/Swordfish (higher levelled players can use less food as they wont be hit very often and you need room for Drops)
- Accursed urns (Optional)
- Food isn't really necessary if you are safespotting
Method
Training range on Lesser demons is one of the best training methods for free to play. A safe spot at the end of the peninsula can give up to 30,000 experience per hour. The safe spot allows rangers to attack safely while taking little to no damage.
Magic
Armour:
- Runecrafter hat
- Combat robe top or Runecrafter robe
- Combat robe bottom or Runecrafter skirt
- Caitlin's staff or whichever staff you prefer
- Amulet of Magic or Amulet of Power (you may use arcane necklaces if you can afford them)
- Explorer's ring 4 or Ring of Devotion
- Swanky boots
- Tome of frost or Magical blastbox or antidragonfire shield
- When killing a Lesser Demon by Magic, it is very important to know that demons are weak to magic. Therefore, a person wearing no armour of any kind (or possibly a magic amulet) can easily defeat this demon.
Inventory:
- 22 Lobsters/Swordfish (Higher levels can use less for drop space)(not needed if you are safespotting)
- Accursed urns (optional)
- 400 Fire runes
- 100 Nature runes
- 1000 Mind/Chaos/Death runes(depending on level)
Method
Training magic on Lesser Demons is one of the best methods for free to play magic training. The player should stay at the safe spot mentioned in the ranger section for rangers and fight from there. Lesser demons are weak against magic, making training go by faster.
Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages
- Lesser demons drop Rune helms, which give 11,520 gold when High Level Alchemy is cast on it.
- Lesser demons have 800 life points, making them ideal for training.
- Due to update you may also use demon's ashes to train prayer meanwhile
Disadvantages
- Lesser demons are aggressive, which means that they attack every player they can attack.
- Often, in the Karamja volcano and in the wilderness volcano (on worlds with a lot of people), the lesser demons are crowded, making killing more competitive.
- Silverlight is effective on them, but it is not very accurate at times.
