A Clay ring is made by firing an unfired clay ring in a pottery oven. Making the ring requires level 4 crafting. It grants 20 crafting experience points when made (11.5 experience making an unfired clay ring and 8.5 experience from firing it).
Morgan in Draynor Village purchases clay rings for 10 gp a piece.
To get a ring of devotion, right click on a clay ring in your inventory and then right click on Father Aereck to select the option "Use clay ring -> Father Aereck". When blessed by Father Aereck (not Father Urhney nor any of the monks in the Monastery), the clay ring becomes a ring of devotion. The ring of devotion can not be sold or given to Morgan to complete one of the easy tasks in Lumbridge/Draynor, as that task calls for the selling an ordinary clay ring to Morgan.
