The Third-age platebody is a members-only piece of armour that is part of the Third age warrior set. To wear any component of the set a player needs at least 65 Defence. To obtain a third age platebody the player can either complete a hard Treasure trail, trade with another player or buy it from the Grand Exchange.
It is currently one of the best non-degradable platebodies in the game, surpassed in stab and ranged defence by the dragon platebody. However, due to its rarity and price, Dragon armour, and Bandos armour are often worn instead.
Interestingly enough, the stat bonuses more closely resemble chainmail, rather than platemail. It has a 0 Range attack bonus, is weak to stab and range, and is resistant to crush and slash.
It was revealed that the odds of getting a piece of third-age armour are between 1/100,000 and 1/1,000,000.<ref>Mod Maylea. "Treasure Trails Q&A Answers!". 28th of September 2010. News & Announcements Forums. *</ref>
