Broad-tipped bolts are bolts used for a crossbow. They are equivalent of broad arrows. Players can buy 250 of them by exchanging 35 Slayer reward points or buy up to 3,000 unfinished broad bolts at a time directly from any slayer master.
Fletching
They can be player made using the Fletching skill of at least level 55 by adding feathers to unfinished broad bolts after purchasing the ability to fletch them for 300 Slayer reward points. (Unfinished broad bolts can be purchased from Slayer Masters with coins.) They are also available from monster drops and can be purchased on the Grand Exchange.
Broad-tipped bolts are fletched 10 at a time and give 3 fletching experience per bolt, or 30 experience per set of 10 bolts made.
Requirements
Broad-tipped bolts are only usable by players with a slayer level of at least 55 and a ranging level of at least 50. However, players must have a Rune crossbow (requires level 61 Ranged), an Armadyl crossbow (requires level 70 Ranged), or a Chaotic Crossbow (requires level 80 Ranged and Dungeoneering) equipped to fire broad-tipped bolts.
Broad-tipped bolts can not be used with Zanik's Crossbow.
Usefulness
Many people use Broad-tipped bolts for training and general ranging because they are as strong as Adamant bolts. However, they can not be poisoned or enchanted, so adamant bolts still have their uses against high level monsters, such as quest bosses or the generals in the God Wars Dungeon.

Trivia
- Upon their release no slayer level was required to use them; this was an oversight and has since been fixed.
- After the "Pre-purchase advice and more" update on 25 March 2009, it's proven that Broad Bolts are just as strong as adamant bolts, both having a +100 Ranged Strength bonus.
- Although they require 50 Ranged to use you actually need 61 ranged as you have to use a Rune crossbow or better to fire them.
