Start of May
The Start of May was the first spring holiday event in RuneScape. During the event, lilies blossomed throughout the game. It first occurred in 2009, and it celebrated the beginning of May.
Background
During Start of May, there were Lilies of the valley blossoming throughout RuneScape.<ref name="Start of May"/> The lilies could be given to other players by using the item on them if they had Accept Aid on and their inventory was not full, and could be wielded as a weapon. Smelling the lilies enabled players to perform an emote where the lilies are brought up to their nose and they lean backwards.
Start of May was first released on 28 April until 6 May of 2009 as a celebration of the start of May.<ref name="Start of May">Mod Fetzki. "Summoning Upgrade and Hairstyles". 28 Apr 2009.
