Lilies of the valley are wieldable flowers which give no bonuses to the player wielding them. They were a part of the 2009, 2010, and 2011 Spring Event, Start of May. They were released on 28 April 2009 to mark the beginning of May. The lilies only appear once a year and could be found everywhere on RuneScape whilst they were in the game; even within different random events.

As the examine text implies, they are removed on the first update following the release. These flowers were once again added during the Buyers and Cellars update on 29 April 2010. Jagex yet again released these flowers on 3 May 2011 with the Capes of Distinction. The lilies may be operated when worn or "smelled" when in players' inventories. These can be picked infinite times and never be depleted.

Trivia

  • When doing the Air Guitar emote, the player's lily doesn't disappear unlike all equipped weapons/shields.
  • The part of the examine text that says 'It will vanish with the next update' means the flower is one of the few items to that breaks the fourth wall. Other such items are the Oktoberfest Pretzel , Easter Carrot, Hati Paws and the Golden Hammer.
  • The item is named after Lily of the Valley day, a French holiday on the 1st of May.
  • Upon using a lily with a gravestone, players place the item on the ground and receive the message 'That was very sweet of you.'
