Night-gazer Khighorahk is a large, magic-based Dungeoneering boss (a Stalker to be precise) which may be encountered on floors 26 through 29 of Daemonheim. There are four Pillar of Light around the room. It is not necessary to light all four pillars to damage it, but players deal more damage when more burners are lit. The pillars go out occasionally (very often if Night-gazer uses the special attack, and more often as more players are in the team), so it is beneficial to have a teammate standing next to each pillar during the fight. However, standing near a pillar of light (2 spaces or less away) when it goes out will cause the player to take unblockable damage. This boss battle is slightly more difficult for a solo player because the player will have to constantly run around the room lighting the pillars. However, since the boss is not particularly powerful, the player may choose to re-light only a single pillar at the cost of making the battle last much longer.
There are two stages in this boss battle. When the Night-gazer dies the first time, it will respawn and players will have to kill it a second time to finally defeat it. However, in this second stage, the Night-gazer will have a lower combat level and the pillars will remain lit for the duration of the fight. This form is mobile; the first is not. It will also look the same except for the fact that some of its eyes will be missing with cord-like threads hanging off the sockets.
Night-gazer attacks primarily with magic. Its magic attacks are surprisingly weak, even against a player wearing a full set of melee armour. Additionally, it uses a ranged attack of which it squirts some of its "eye goo" at you. This attack is far more powerful than its magic attack, and can hit through Protect from Missiles. Night-gazer occasionally uses an attack where it jumps up and spins around, and this have a chance of draining run energy by 30 percent. This attack also fires its ranged attack at all players. The Night-gazer also has a powerful attack where it jumps into the air with a bluish sphere around it. This must be avoided by quickly running away because it will deal upwards of 700 life points to any player who is still standing next to it when it lands. However, this powerful move is only triggered if a player is in melee range to the Night-gazer (does not necessarily need to melee it), and it will use it often if a player stands in its melee range, making it less efficient using melee to kill it. If all players range or mage the boss, then it will not use this attack. It also has an attack that stuns the player during the second form that makes players unable to attack or move.
As revealed in the Stalker notes, Khighorahk had appeared once in the notes' writer's private room and had created a nest to breed. Bilrach then decided to use it as a guard in the dark room.
A player with a sufficiently high prayer level can kill the night gazer with little food.
Strategies
- Melee strategy - The boss will stand in the middle of the room during the fight. Use Protect from Magic and run around the room lighting the pillars and attacking the boss. When the boss creates a blue/purple bubble around itself, the player has 2 or 3 seconds to run away before the boss slams into the ground and deals a large amount of damage to the player, and it will do so often, however if out of run energy, the attack can still be easily avoided with mediocre reflexes. If fought properly, the boss will only do a small amount of damage. When the boss respawns the player should follow the same strategy, although the pillars do not have to be re-lit. However the boss can stun you, making it impossible to avoid his hard hitting attack. It is weak towards stab attacks. If possible have a familiar to assist with the battle. When using melee attacks, the Night-gazer will perform the special very often.
- Range/Mage strategy - The boss will stand in the middle of the room during the fight. Use Protect from Magic and run around the room lighting the pillars and attacking the boss. When the boss respawns the player should follow the same strategy, although the pillars won't have to be re-lit. If possible have a familiar to assist with the battle.
- Team strategy - Luckily many players should be willing to fight using melee. To effectively fight this boss at least one melee player is helpful, since the boss will occasionally use the stomping attack, giving resting time to other members in team. However rangers are also useful, in dealing stable damage and lighting pillars without using much of running energy. Stalkers are generally strong against magic so mages may not have much effect on the boss. Stock up on either law or cosmic runes to avoid multiple deaths. Teleporting when the attack is coming will prevent the attack and negate all damage, so this is perfect as you can recover while your team-mates are killing the boss. Teams with 5 players(which are quite common) will find this boss exceptionally easy, possibly the easiest furnished floor boss. The player with the highest melee stats out of the team should be permanently next to the gazer. The other four should take up the responsibility of lighting a specific pillar. When the pillar goes out, they run towards it, light it, and then they can attack the gazer till the light goes out again. If all players use protect from magic, avoid the special attack(which takes little effort) and make sure that they are not close to the pillars of light unless its already burnt out, players can kill the gazer fast enough that they will take no damage except for a few ranged hits(the more efficient the team, the faster the kill, and the less ranged hits the gazer gets to make).

Trivia
- The extension on Khighorahk's left appears to be the optic nerve of a Stalker spawn described in Stalker Notes 2.
- The Seeker of Truth from the quest Salt in the Wound is identical to the Night-gazer, implying that a stalker's physical appearance may be replicated.
- The examine text seems to be a reference to The Tell-tale Heart, a short story by the famous American literature writer Edgar Allan Poe.
- It is possible for this boss to move out of its spot, but will be bound to the spot it moved to.
- It makes the same sound effects as the other Stalkers (with the exception of Plane-freezer Lakhrahnaz) when dying and being dealt damage.
- There is a glitch where it would do the special attack and would not show any evidence, causing many deaths. It would be shown similar to Lexicus Runewright, but would do the animation when it is going to finish it. It has not been fixed.
- If you defeat the first form of Night-Gazer Khighorahk with Retribution, you would still receive the Double KO title.
