Mithril darts are member's only Ranged throwing weapons. To wield them, the player must have at least 20 Ranged. They can be obtained by either using the Smithing and Fletching skills or trading with another player. Mithril darts can be poisoned and can be wielded with a shield or god book for protection. Like knives, they are commonly used to train ranged for their incredibly quick speed. A steel knife has the same accuracy and power as a mithril dart, however mithril darts are half the price of a steel knife, so buying mithril darts may be a more economical choice if buying ammo in very large quantities.

To create mithril darts the player must have completed the Tourist Trap quest and have at least 54 Smithing and 52 Fletching. Each mithril bar will create 10 Mithril dart tips and the player will receive 50 Smithing experience. When feathers are added the player will receive 10 mithril darts and 11.2 Fletching experience per mithril dart.
