Marigolds are flowers that can be planted in a flower patch with the Farming skill using marigold seeds. They are not edible, contrary to what one might expect.
Currently the only non-farming uses for these flowers are as a tertiary component for the Bull ant Pouch in the Summoning skill and as the protection payment for growing hammerstone hops. Before Summoning, street prices were 750-3,000 coins, whereas now they cost Expression error: Unrecognized punctuation character "[". coins.
Planting marigolds in a Farming flower plot will protect potato, onion, and tomato allotments from disease. Growing marigolds in a Farming plot requires a weeded plot, marigold seed, a seed dibber, and level 2 Farming.
Marigolds take 17.5 minutes to grow. They are a great way to make an early profit from Farming, as they only require level 2, the seeds are cheap, they grow quickly, and they sell high.
