Expensive spices are an item used in the quest Let Them Eat Pie. During the quest, these spices are not equippable, and are added to a terrible pie to make it mouth-watering for Rolo the Stout. The player has to obtain them by pickpocketing Foppish Pierre in south Taverley.

After the quest, it becomes a neck slot item (see Expensive spices (necklace)) that, while in your inventory, makes any food eaten heal 10 more life points. This effect is similar to that of the holy wrench, which affects prayer points restoration.
