The Cavefish are a type of fish that can only be found in the Living Rock Caverns. The Living Rock Caverns can be found underneath the Dwarven Mine, which is located under Falador and extends to the White Mountain. In order to fish Cavefish you will need a fishing rod (not a fly fishing rod) and normal fishing bait. Players who wish to catch Cavefish should beware of the high level Living Rock Guardians in the area. Fishing with other players can be safer for an individual by spreading the creatures' attacks out amongst the group. World 84, 77, and 88 are the unofficial Living Rock Caverns worlds.

They were introduced with the Living Rock Caverns update on 17 September 2009. They heal 200 life points (up to your max life points) and boost a random combat skill (attack, strength, defence, ranged, or magic) by 2 points. Cavefish, like all other fish, are consumed in one bite.

Players need 85 Fishing to catch cavefish, and 88 Cooking to cook them. Fishing Cavefish yields 300 experience, while cooking yields 214 experience. Players wearing cooking gauntlets will stop burning Cavefish at level 94 Cooking. By cooking cavefish, players will receive ~269k experience/hour, which is slightly more than sharks.
