Cooked karambwan is a food that is obtained when a Raw karambwan is cooked thoroughly. Cooking requires 30 Cooking, granting 190 Cooking experience and turning the raw karambwan into a cooked karambwan. However, in order to thoroughly cook it, a player must complete Tai Bwo Wannai Trio and talk to Tiadeche in his hut to learn how. Otherwise, players can only cook it into poison karambwan. Because of the low cooking level needed and high experience given (the same xp as cooking sharks), some lower level cooks may find karambwans to be an effective training method.
The cooked karambwan can be purchased from Alfonse the Waiter for 460 coins in Brimhaven. However, the price rises as you purchase from the stock of ten that Alfonse the Waiter has in store. While the price is 460 coins when Alfonse has ten cooked karambwan in stock, the price rises with each subsequent purchase, up to 598 coins when he has zero in stock. Buying all ten cooked karabwan from Alfonse in one purchase costs 5,217 coins, for an average price of 521.7 coins per cooked karambwan, a decent price for a food that heals 180 life points when eaten. If intending to supplement one's inventory with food from Alfonse on the way to Brimhaven, players must have at least 6,092 coins in their inventory or money pouch since the entry fee to Brimhaven dungeon is 875 coins, plus the 5,217 coins to purchase ten cooked karambwan from Alfonse (6,122 coins if also paying the 30 gp ferry fee from Port Sarim). Players may also receive 2 noted cooked karambwan as loot from a Gourmet Impling. Bear in mind that sharks are cheaper on the grand exchange, can be bought in larger quantities due to high supply, and will heal slightly more.
Karambwan is a fairly uncommon food due to its odd cooking procedure. While being unusual, it is a relatively high healing food, healing 180 Life Points, which is only 20 less than the amount sharks heal, and it can be cooked at level 30, while sharks can only be cooked at level 80 or higher.

Trivia
- It used to be a unique food in that eating it would not delay a player's next attack (i.e., zero game ticks to eat), but this is no longer the case.
- You can make a reasonable profit by buying cooked karambwan from Alfonse the Waiter and selling it on the GE for about 1000gp more, but his stock is limited to 10.
- Because of a bug, karambwans were used to "double eat" by eating the cooked karambwan first, followed by a Shark quickly after. The player would eat both at once, healing the combined amount. This no longer works due to an update.
