Brown feathers were a drop from Copper Longtails gotten by using a bird snare in the Hunter skill. They had the same uses as regular feathers, but were coloured brown and could be sold to the Varrock Fancy Dress Shop.

The feathers were at some point changed to orange feathers, possibly as a brighter colour of copper. This in turn necessitated that the orange feathers dropped by golden warblers to become yellow feathers.
